MASSAGE

The bodywork modalities I practice include Connective Tissue Therapy, Thai, Shiatsu, Swedish, Craniosacral Therapy, Chi Nei Tsang, Tuina, and Medical Qi Gong. I offer both table and floor sessions, and either work primarily with a specific modality or combine modalities in response to your body's needs. I specialize in Integrative Healing sessions combining Massage, Craniosacral Therapy, and Oriental Medicine. These sessions support opening the body and spirit on all levels to enhance your healing and release of held patterns in the tissues and energetic matrix.
Connective Tissue Therapy works with the connective tissue/fascia, which connects and surrounds every structure in the body from bones and organs to individual muscle cells in one continuous network. Fascia can become rigid and sticky, causing pain, lack of flexibility, and reduced range of motion. This modality works to soften and increase the fluidity of the fascia through the use of slow, deep, and specific pressure, reducing pain, increasing flexibility and oxygen flow to the area, and generally lengthening and connecting the whole body.

THAI . SHIATSU

Shiatsu and Thai Massage stimulate and balance energy flow through meridians/energy lines. In both Shiatsu and Thai massage, the client is generally wearing comfortable, loose clothing, and lying on a mat on the floor. There is no oil or cream used, and the techniques involve perpendicular pressure on specific points along meridians in a firm and rhythmic pressure to help move stagnant Qi/energy. In addition to hands, I use legs, knees, feet, elbows and forearms to apply pressure throughout the body.
Another main component of these styles involves bringing the client into a range of stretches and positions for lengthening and opening the body. These modalities have the effects of being both relaxing and invigorating, as energy that has been bound is freed to flow through the energetic and physical body. I also modify these modalities to be practiced on a massage table, with or without clothing.

CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a light-touch modality that works by gently contacting specific areas of the body to invite unwinding and release of restrictions in the soft and connective tissues surrounding the central nervous system. The modality works with the spine, the skull and its cranial sutures, the fascial diaphragms, the mouth, and other areas of the body to ease restrictions in the tissues and nerve passages, restore misaligned bones to their proper positions, and enable the release of long-held physical and emotional traumas. CST works to balance the pulse/rhythm of the Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF), which flows from the brain through the dural tube, and functions to surround, protect, and nourish the brain and spinal cord.
By gently contacting these areas, tissue patterns unwind and the movement of Cerebrospinal Fluid is optimized, increasing the health of the spine, the nervous system, and every other system that interacts with them. Craniosacral Therapy brings the body to a parasympathetic state while allowing the patient's inner wisdom to self-heal by releasing physical and emotional tensions that lie deep within the body. CST is very helpful for chronic pain and dysfunction, trauma, neurological impairment, and improving whole-body health.
My studies have been with the Upledger Institute, and I have completed Craniosacral Therapy I & II, SomatoEmotional Release I, CST for Pediatrics, CST for Conception, Pregnancy, and Birthing, and CST for the Acupuncture Meridians.

CHI NEI TSANG
Chi Nei Tsang literally means “working the energy of the internal organs” or “internal organs chi (Qi) transformation.” Chi Nei Tsang practitioners are trained in Qi Gong and use the principles of Qi Gong; therefore, it is a form of applied Qi Gong. Chi Nei Tsang came into being millennia ago in the mountain ranges of Taoist China. It was used by monks in monasteries to help detoxify, strengthen and refine their bodies in order to maintain the vitality required to perform the highest levels of spiritual practices.
Therapy is mainly applied on the abdomen with deep, soft and gentle touches, to train internal organs to work more efficiently. Unprocessed emotional charges are also addressed in this manner, as well as all of the body systems: digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, lymphatic, nervous, endocrine, urinary, reproductive, musculo-skeletal, and the acupuncture meridian system.
CNT detoxifies as techniques help relieve the body of excess stagnation, improving elimination and stimulating the lymphatic and circulatory systems. It strengthens the immune system and resistance to diseases as well as helping recovery from surgery. CNT helps to restructure and strengthen the body and postural imbalances by addressing the positioning of internal organs. It is helpful with chronic back, neck and shoulder pains and problems related to misalignment of the feet, legs and pelvis.
Poor emotional digestion is also one of the main reasons for ill health. CNT facilitates the release of deep-seated emotional tensions held in the digestive tract, thus assisting us in releasing old patterns and transforming our health and personal evolution.
Chi Nei Tsang is a self-healing technique and can be practiced on yourself at home.
I studied Chi Nei Tsang with Master Mantak Chia.
